Use exhibitor additional questions

Learn how to collect custom company details from exhibitors by adding “Additional Questions” and manage responses efficiently through the Exhibitor module.

Updated over a month ago

Additional questions let you gather more than the standard exhibitor information, company descriptions, logos, sponsorship‑related data, or other custom details. With this feature, you can tailor the registration form to your event’s needs, ensure consistent data collection for sponsors and exhibitors, and streamline follow-up and reporting. Import options make bulk setup easy, while import of responses and built-in edit/delete controls help you maintain clean, up-to-date exhibitor data.

How do I add a new exhibitor additional question

  1. Go to Setup > Exhibitor > Exhibitor additional questions

  2. Select Add exhibitor question from the Actions dropdown

  3. In the Settings section fill out:

    • Label: the question or statement to show on the public registration site (required)

    • Question code: a unique identifier for this question across events (required)

    • Format: choose how registrants respond — Textbox, Text area, Checkboxes, Radio buttons, Dropdown, or File (required)

  4. Based on your format:

    • If you chose Textbox or Text area: go to the Options section to optionally set width, height, character or word limits, and enable multiple responses if needed

    • If you chose Checkboxes, Radio buttons, or Dropdown: go to Available values, then use the Add icon to list possible answers. For each answer you may also enable an additional textbox (e.g., “Other — please specify”). Reorder answers if needed before saving

    • If you chose File: simply save, allowing file upload responses

  5. Click Save

  6. Repeat for each question you want to collect

How do I import multiple additional questions at once

  1. In Exhibitor additional questions, open the Actions dropdown and select Import additional questions

  2. On the import page click Download exhibitor additional questions template. Save the file (do not rename or remove headers)

  3. Fill out the template: include Label, Format, and Question ID for each question. Leave blank any fields you do not have data for.

  4. Save your file as a .CSV

  5. In the import page click Browse, select your CSV, then click Save

  6. View the Import summary report to check how many records succeeded or failed; download error rows if any to troubleshoot

How do I import responses to existing additional questions

  1. Navigate to Exhibitor additional questions > Actions > Import additional question responses

  2. Download the additional question responses template, then fill in:

    • Value: the text that will appear as an option (for dropdown, radio, or checkbox items)

    • Write-in required: “yes” if you want an “Other” box beside that value, or “no” otherwise

    • Answer code: unique identifier for this response option across events

  3. Save the file as .CSV

  4. Upload it via the import page (Browse → select file → Save)

  5. On the Import summary report, check success vs failed records and download error logs if needed

How do I edit or delete an existing additional question

  • Edit: click the Edit icon next to the question. Modify settings (label, format, options) as needed, then click Save

  • Delete: if the question is not used in a page builder, report, email, or already has responses, a Delete icon appears — click it and confirm in the dialog box to remove the question

⚠️ If the question is in use (in page builder or has stored responses), the delete option will not appear.

Exhibitor additional questions let you easily collect custom, event‑specific data from exhibitors. Whether you add questions one by one or import them in bulk, you maintain flexibility and consistency. Importing response options helps ensure clean data, while built-in edit/delete controls keep your database current. This feature gives you greater insight and control over exhibitor information, helping with sponsorship management, reporting, and event planning.
