Import and manage Profile Additional Questions

Use the Import Profile Additional Question Responses tool in Launchpad by Swapcard to upload responses to Profile Additional Questions in bulk. This saves time when managing dropdowns, radio buttons, or checkbox response options across large events or recurring forms.


How do I download the import template?

Before you can upload your data, you must use the official system template to ensure the formatting matches the database requirements.

Accessing the tool

  • Go to the Event Setup menu.

  • In General select Profile Additional Questions.

  • Click Actions, then choose Import Additional Question Responses.

Preparing the file

  • Click Download Profile Additional Question Responses Template located under the Upload CSV field.

  • When the prompt appears, click OK to open the file.

  • Fill in the Value (the text users see, like "Female"), Write In Required (type "yes" or "no" to allow "Other" options), and the Answer Code (a unique ID for reporting).

  • Note: Do not delete any columns from the template, even if they are empty. Save the final file in .CSV format.

Once your file is ready and saved correctly, you can move to the upload phase to apply these options to your profile questions.

  • Click Browse next to the Upload CSV field in the import interface.

  • Select your saved CSV file from your computer.

  • Click Save to begin the upload process.

  • Once the process begins, you will be automatically redirected to the Profile Additional Question Responses Import Summary Report.


How do I review the import results?

It is important to verify that all data was accepted by the system. The summary report provides a detailed breakdown of the upload's success.

  • The Summary section displays the total count of successful and failed rows.

  • Under Downloads, you can access the All Import Rows report for a full log or Error Import Rows to see only the entries that failed.

  • Reports are available in both XLS and CSV formats.

  • To view data from a previous session, use the Previous Imports dropdown menu to select an upload by its date.


Can I delete Profile Additional Questions?

To maintain data integrity, the system prevents the deletion of questions that are currently being used in active workflows or records.

  • You can only delete unused questions. A question cannot be deleted if it is linked to a page builder page, a saved report/email, or a saved registrant response.

  • To remove an eligible question, click the Delete icon located next to the question name.

  • Confirm the action by clicking OK in the pop-up dialog box.


Importing profile question responses is the most efficient way to manage large sets of data options within Launchpad. By using the structured CSV template and reviewing the Import Summary Report, you can ensure your registration forms are populated accurately and professionally. Regularly auditing your questions and deleting those no longer in use will keep your setup organized and optimize your event’s reporting capabilities.
