Configure Packages with Conditional Questions and Price Display Options

Packages in Launchpad can be enhanced with additional functionality, such as requiring specific questions when selected or customizing how prices are displayed. This allows for more tailored registration experiences based on the selected package.

Updated over a month ago

Some registration packages require additional information — such as selecting a session, providing dietary preferences, or confirming eligibility. Instead of presenting these questions to every registrant, Launchpad allows you to attach required questions directly to specific packages. Additionally, you can control how package prices are displayed, offering flexibility in presentation.

Link required questions to a package

You can configure a package to prompt a required registration question, which will only appear when that specific package is selected.

Display behavior:

  • Packages as cards: The additional question appears on the card, below the main package details.

  • Packages as dropdown or radio buttons: The question appears right after the package field — only when the relevant package is selected.

How to configure:

  1. Go to the package settings.

  2. Select an additional registration question to associate with the package.

  3. Add instructional text if needed.

  4. Save the package.

⚠️ Linked questions must be registration-type additional questions. Once linked, the question cannot be deleted.

Rules and limitations

  • Required questions stay hidden until their linked package is selected.

  • No packages have linked questions by default — this must be configured manually.

  • The system prevents deletion of any additional question that is actively linked to a package.

Customize package price display

When using the “Pick Primary Package” element, you can choose how prices are shown:

  1. Whole numbers only – omits cents.

  2. Always show cents – e.g., displays as $50.00.

  3. Do not display price – hides pricing entirely.

This lets you tailor the presentation to match your event branding or pricing strategy.

Package Name field for Reports

For some events, the Package Name includes the dates the Package is active as well as additional details, which makes the name very long.

This change would allow staff to cut out a lot of manual “search and replace” functions in our reports.Functionality

On the Add and Edit Package pages, the new field is labeled “Reporting Label”. This field is not required.

The “Reporting Label” field is only used on the admin website and is not displayed on any public registration pages.

On the admin website, the new “Reporting Label” field has been added to:

  • “Display Columns” in “Search” and “Advanced Reports”

  • Filters in “Search” and “Advanced Reports”

  • The main “Packages” setup report.

  • The Registration Full Data Export.

  • The Registration XML Feed

  • The Registration API

In some cases, these new fields are labeled as “Primary Package Reporting Label” and “Additional Package Reporting Label”. This is to differentiate these fields when the “Primary Package” and “Additional Package” fields and data are displayed together.

By configuring packages with conditional questions and tailored price display settings, you can streamline the registration process, collect relevant data more efficiently, and create a cleaner, more user-friendly experience for attendees.
