Create Badge Type Labels

Use Badge Type Labels to ensure that event staff can easily distinguish attendee categories and assign the correct badge holders.

Badge Type Labels serve as an essential visual cue for event staff, allowing for efficient distribution of badge holders tailored to various attendee types. Particularly useful in events with layered Classification Types, these labels enhance the onsite experience by streamlining check-in and ensuring attendees receive the correct credentials. Whether applied automatically or customized through attendee profiles, Badge Type Labels make large-scale events more manageable and professional.


How to create Badge Type labels

To define and configure Badge Type Labels within your registration process:

  1. Navigate to the Actions dropdown and select Add Registration Questions.

  2. In the Settings section, fill out the required fields:

    • Label: Type "Badge Type" to indicate the purpose of this additional question.

    • Format: Select either Checkboxes, Radio Buttons, or Dropdown. These formats support predefined answer values for easy application.

  3. In the Options section:

    • Auto Assign Question Responses: Check this box to have responses automatically assigned to a registrant's profile based on their classification or other filter logic.

  4. In the Available Values section, define the badge labels that will display on badges:

    • Click the Add Icon to add your first response value.

    • For each response, populate the following:

      • Value: Enter the label that should appear on the badge (e.g., VIP, Speaker, Sponsor).

      • Write In (optional): Enable this checkbox if you want registrants to provide additional info alongside the response.

      • Answer Code: Enter a unique code that will identify the response across events or within reports.

      • Auto Assign Filters: Use filter logic to apply this Badge Type Label only to applicable registrant profiles. This ensures only registrants matching specific criteria (like Classification Type) will receive this badge label.

Label display and customization

  • Badge Type Labels will appear in the bottom-right corner of the printed badge.

  • If a registrant qualifies for multiple labels, they will appear separated by commas.

  • Labels can be manually overridden within the registrant’s profile tab, allowing Admin Users to tailor badge types for edge cases or exceptions.

  • Use the Bulk Updates tool to modify Badge Type Labels for multiple registrants at once—ideal for large events or last-minute changes.


Creating and managing Badge Type Labels is a simple yet powerful way to personalize and streamline your event’s onsite operations. By configuring auto-assigned responses and applying strategic filters, you ensure badge distribution is fast, accurate, and reflective of each attendee's role or category. When used correctly, Badge Type Labels not only enhance logistical efficiency but also contribute to a more polished and professional event experience.
