Marketing codes are used to track the performance of registration campaigns. When registrants access the registration page through online marketing efforts, Launchpad assigns a marketing code to their record. These codes help event managers evaluate the success of campaigns and can be tied to promo codes for automated discounts.

Marketing codes are typically embedded in a registration URL.

Example of a link with a marketing code embedded:

  • Add ?_mc= to the event link

  • Replace XYZ123 with the actual marketing code

Marketing codes are an essential component of a sophisticated event marketing strategy. By utilizing these codes, you move beyond basic attendance numbers and gain a deep understanding of the registrant's journey. This insight is vital for evaluating the effectiveness of different marketing channels, automating discount workflows, and ultimately increasing your event's conversion rate. Maintaining a clean and organized list of codes ensures that your final reports are accurate, helping you demonstrate the tangible success of your promotional efforts to stakeholders.
